Dear reader,
I want to bring your attention to two of my articles that got published on different platforms recently.
First, we have the culmination of my readings and writing on the topic of beauty. What is beauty? Find out in this article I wrote for Reactionair.nl. It deals with the question of beauty by opposing a Platonic conception of beauty and a relativistic conception of beauty. Furthermore, beauty is related to the question of art. And as always, these questions are related to a philosophy of life. Read here: Het veiligste antwoord: over schoonheid, kunst, en leven.
This text is in Dutch. But if you don’t read the language, it isn’t that far away from English, and you can always use some translating robot.
I recommend taking a look at the different texts Reactionair.nl has to offer, it is a great project.
For IM-1776, there was an article about tobacco. Yes, the demonized plant that people smoke. Unexpected perhaps from someone who usually writes about philosophy. But if you have been following me, you know that one of my primary philosophical interests is deception, and I have written at length about deception in light of the corona-hoax. Corona was a great example of how health ministries and corporations really have a thing for pushing bad products on you, all in the name of health. As you should know, commercial cigarettes contain loads of toxic additives and are in no way the same as natural tobacco. Why, you ask, did these products change so much? ‘For your health’, of course. Read more here: The War on Tobacco. The article is based on a thread I did on Twitter, which contains a great deal of information left out in the article. If you have any questions in light of the article, perhaps the thread can give you an answer:
And, please, don’t hit me with the ‘smoking bad muh causes cancer’. People are going to smoke tobacco, so let’s make sure they only have access to the most toxic types of cigarettes possible, is this what you propose? If you cannot entertain the complexities of a phenomenon without resorting to moralisations, you have no business dealing with complex topics in the first place.
The article was written for IM-1776, a great online magazine of dissident cultural and political analysis. I highly recommend giving them your support. They also have two beautiful print issues which you can find here: IM-publishing.
Loved the tobacco article and was impressed how well Google translated this https://reactionair-nl.translate.goog/artikelen/over-schoonheid-kunst-en-leven/?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=wapp
